MY Museum is the Monterey County Youth Museum. This small museum is perfect for kids ages 7 and under. Although my kids were quite a bit older, we decided to check it out for my readers who have younger children.
There’s a special play area just for the wee little ones.
Several themed play areas offer many opportunities for pretend play. Do you have an aspiring golfer?
Or maybe a paramedic or doctor?
Or maybe a future firefighter?
Kids can learn about the farm-to-table movement by harvesting some vegetables, cooking them up, then serving them in a restaurant.
There’s a darling little playhouse.
If you don’t like that house, maybe you’d prefer to build your own.
Or maybe you prefer your house to be in a tree.
MY Museum has a darling stage where kids can perform their own play. The backstage area has several costumes from which to choose. My daughters were good sports and put on a show for the rest of us.
My kids always love these contraptions where you to try to enclose yourself in a bubble.
Lastly, there’s an art area that is stocked with supplies where kids can be creative and make their own masterpieces.
Although my kids were well above the ideal age for MY Museum, I know they would have enjoyed it when they were younger. MY Museum would be a terrific addition to your Monterey Peninsula vacation itinerary if you have young kids. My only caution is that you should be aware that admission is charged for everyone in the family, even teens and adults.
